Hello everyone, a huge T.G.I.F to you
guys. Sure everyone is doing great. Now to my ladies out there I hope you all
know we can’t have a 2015 fashion trend prediction for ladies without having
one for the men as well. That would be a bit selfish of us don’t you think. We also
want our men to look good just like we do right.
Sometimes I know the notion of trends
in men’s fashion might seem curiously redundant, but that’s because although
men’s fashion is quite simple and straightforward, however it’s also technical,
with some huge attention to detail. Let’s not shy away from the technical bit
and take a look at men’s fashion in a whole different light for today. So
without wasting time let’s take a look at some of the predicted men’s
fashion trends for 2015.
1.
PRINTS
Prints are everywhere in men’s
fashion we agree, but this year the gist is on designs that are a little bit
more creative. From block-colour swirls over suiting, to rich intricate mosaic
tile prints, this year there would be barely any male attire that won’t come
adorned.
2.
BLACK
& WHITE
There’s nothing new about the black
and white combo, last week it was also part of our female trends to watch out
for this year. But there is a reason black and white is always a timeless go to
trend. Both colours are accessible, create a great contrast and highlight smart
designs. The outfit below isn’t something new, but it’s different in its layering
with a contrasted trim, making a quiet but powerful effect. This is a nice
office look for men (without the sandals though), air conditioning should make
this office wearable in our environment. And also anyone that isn’t overly
crazy with colours can work with this.
3.
LEISURE
FASHION
Menswear designers know that men
exist outside the world of tailored suits, denim jeans and collared shirts, but
also demand other avenues of comfort and style. The leisure trend is one of
those. I’m sure we’ve noticed by now guys mix a lot of colours nowadays with
more casual outfits. The picture below is a perfect example, the matching socks
and hat is a very cool mix. Also notice him wearing standout colours but they’re
very subtle, which is the way to go for men.
4.
LOW
POINTS
The slashed to the navel shirts
predicted to be favoured this year are no doubt a sartorial allegiance to the
rock stars of old. Men’s fashion has taken up this trend and is running with it
this year. With all slithery satin shirts slipping over abs in a peek-a-boo
style, this is one trend that I don’t think would be highly popular here in
Nigeria. You might ask “Why?” Well, because with our high carbs diet (EBA and
the rest lol) most men won’t be able to boast of the sort of abs needed to pull
this off.
5.
DRESS
DOWN SUITING
Over the years suit designs have
become less and less formal, with fashion designers always experimenting on new
ways to add a bit of edge to the traditional suit look. This year isn’t going
to be different either with a couple of predicted trends that are dressing down
on the formal suit look.
·
Tieless
Look: Many brands are adopting the tie-less approach to suits, with the trend
predicted to be a key aesthetic this year. As you can see below, the end result
still looks extremely smart and sophisticated.
·
Removing
The Collar: One of the insistent questions for men’s suit attire has always
been, can one look smart, elegant and authoritative in a suit without wearing a
collared shirt? Well, the answer is “Yes”. We point you in the direction below
to take a look at the predicted trending no collar styles for the year. Our
favourite piece is the Pyjama look suit. Love it.

Nice post
ReplyDeleteReally nice posts, especially the suit aspect love it. Personally as a guy I’d prefer to wear the dress down suit on separate occasions rather than a traditional suit. This will result in there being a subtle difference in my formal and weekend outfits.
ReplyDeleteYhh, the suit styles are right up there for me. I’ll like to see more of our guys try that out.
DeleteHahaha @Eba….. Kai Miss Pamo you mean o. See as you just abuse our Naija guys. Truth is majority of us Nigerians are guilty of ‘carbohydrate stomach syndrome’ including us females Lol….
