BENEFITS OF OATMEAL


Hello fashion lovers... How are you I hope you all had great week like I did even if you didn’t am sure you will have a fun weekend. Today’s post as the title says is about oat meal. I will be telling you about my personal experience. The experiments am yet to try and my daily regime with this amazing source of fiber that most of us have in our kitchen but some of u hate it so much, I hope by the time you’re done reading this post you would reconsider.                                                                                  
You know as we get older our metabolism tends to slow down and some of us want to keep eating the way we used to when we were younger and expect our body to remain the same that ain't gonna happen .another thing also do is that we hate drugs. I personally hate drugs but did you know that having a proper diet keeps you away from the doctor. Incorporating more protein, fiber and vitamins will have you feeling healthy give you that skin glow you source only from creams and also makes your hair grow trust me.

Oat meal as a daily meal the best way to enjoy oat for breakfast especially for those of you that don’t is with  fruits like diced apple, pineapple, dates, berries basically any sweet fruits of your choice this way your cutting sugar and adding vitamins but if you don’t have any you can just use honey instead of sugar and also substitute milk for unsweetened yogurt not only will the fruits give you all the sweetness you need, your'e also cutting down on calories and also if you have lactose issues; thats if you take milk you have discomfort, try and make yogurt your new milk, because its high in fibre it keeps u full for a longer time.



  The amount of fiber that women needs in their body is 25 gm, men 38 gm. A bowl of oat meal for breakfast contains nothing more than 10 gm. Now here is the trick for me, as Africans we don’t joke with our sallow, did you know that you can substitute garri, pounded yam, semo etc with oat, all you need to do is out the amount of oat meal that you can finish in a blender add water it you think its enough how you would know is that your mix wont be too watery or too thick blend to pour it into a pot heat it up and keep stirring  before you know it is forming the shape of your normal swallow. Another way to do this if you don’t have electricity is to just heat it up just like you do your normal oat it will start to get thick and take the same shape but I prefer the first one because it comes out very smooth. So imagine you had fiber in the morning and noon and add it up with protein or vitamins for the rest of the day  just imagine.

  
OAT MEAL AS A SKIN CARE PRODUCT

I don’t know if any one has come across St Ives oatmeal and sheabutter body wash it smells amazing now if beauty companies can use oat as an ingredient for skin care product then you should know am not making this up. If you are this type that have oat milk and honey for breakfast and you have some left overs did you know that you can apply it on your face or any part of your body that is having irritation it is not only good for all skin types it removes dead skin sells it also serves as a deep moisturizer to your skin it proves collagen deposition and activstes immune cells with the skin
Oat grounded in to powder is known as colloidal oatmeal  this can be mixed with warm water not cold water please so the oat can dissolve easily in a thick pate apply over itchy skin it can also be used to lighten and smoothen your skin. An oat meal bath is also effective in healing a number of  skin condition  all you have to do is add 4 to 5 spoons of your dry grounded oatmeal into your warm or hot water and lastly and my personal favorite is my homemade oatmeal scrub the trick is as soft as oatmeal is not grounded of course, take a little bowl add 2 spoons of oat and 1 spoon of honey or a little more than that mix with your face wet apply and scrub I do this 3 times a week




OATMEAL FOR HAIR 

This is called the oat meal rinse. As your natural hair gets longer it becomes harder to maintain and keeping it from tangling becomes tough. By simply adding 3 spoons of well grounded oat meal in 4 to 5 cups of warm water when properly mixed it will look like coloured water use it to rinse your already washed hair and allow it to air dry you don’t need to wash it off till your next wash [not that you cant wash your hair even though it is twisted it is better that way]  This moisturizes your hair because it contains vitamins B it helps repair damaged hair it makes its silky and soft and give it the      shine that is needs.

  12. Can't wait to try this! I am currently trying to use more homemade products in my hair care regimen so this would be a great addition to it. I just had a question, instead of doing a separate rinse with the oatmeal, is it possible to just add it to a conditioner mix (blending it really well) and then rinse it out?
