Hi guys, today we will be taking a look at something quite different from what we usually talk about. Yes this is a fashion blog in case most new comers don't know what is going on here and I also want to welcome you, and as for my old viewers I want to thank you all for your continuous love, support and most importantly for your participation through your comments. It gives me such joy. For me, that's the greatest reward I can ask for, so I thank you all for that.

Now back to the topic at hand "FASHION". A lot people think that fashion is just about clothes, shoes, bags, makeup and all that. However there is more to it than that, there is something called the engine room where all the work is done, which in this case I’m talking about taking proper care of yourself and keeping your body healthy first and foremost before the shoes, bags, clothes, makeup, etc., can even start to compliment you.

So today we will be looking at one of the health aspects of fashion. There are many but today's focus will be on COCONUT OIL. From the moment my cousin Faith introduced me to coconut oil and I started seeing the positive changes in my body I became fascinated and amazed by what it can do. Eventually I started to do some research on it and found out how it can be used for a lot of things. In this case one of its most effective uses is in the field of beauty treatment, and by that I mean how it can be used to enhance, aid and better the skin and other parts of the body for that natural glow and flawless looking skin.

Am just gonna lay out a few things that coconut oil can do for your body and talking from experience;
1).        It can be used on skin as a basic lotion for soft, smooth skin
2).        As an eye makeup remover
3).        To lighten age spots wen rubbed directly
4).        As a natural sunscreen with a very high SPF (Sun Protection Factor). No jokes
5).        As a delicious tropical massage oil
6).        As an intensive night time face moisturiser
7).        Mix with sugar for a smoothing body scrub
8).        Rub on lips as a natural clap stick
9).        As an incredibly intensive natural conditioner rub into dry hair put a shower cap on     and leave it for several hours
10).      It takes care of pimples and irritation
11).      It can help speed healing of sunburn.

How to Make Homemade Coconut Oil;
Blend your coconut with little water. Sieve out the liquid content of the blended solution, and boil till it turns brown. Once it’s brown in colour you will see the oil floating on top, use a spoon to scoop it out and put it a container. You can put it in the fridge to cool it down. There you have it, our beauty treatment for the week, your natural homemade coconut oil.
I hope you all give it a try and get back to me at least after a month. I would like to know your result. Remember only a good skin can pull off a flawless makeup.
So I hope you all have a nice day and till next time GBF……….

Hi folks, normally I don't make posts on Sunday’s except its Glam Sunday, but today I am breaking the rules, because as they say life is too short to have so many rules....

Last night I was at Asia town here in Port Harcourt for a dinner event and the launching of a new hair called “Amber Coils” from Presh  Hairway’s, who was also celebrating 2 years of a successful hair line, we hope to be seeing more of her. The event was so nice, I mean from the Foooood (silly face), to the speeches and there was even a poem about hair, which was so lovely, then finally to the ladies or should I say her customers sporting her hair. Their hairs spoke out loud and were so good that I couldn't even notice their faces, all I could see was really good hair, SIGHS……

So know I decided to share this with you because one of the most important details of a woman is her hair and that topic has not yet been discussed on this blog. Let’s just say I was waiting for the right moment to talk about it and Presh Hairway’s has finally given me the opportunity to. Now I’m not gonna talk much because I want the few pictures that I took last night to do all the talking, so let the hair talk for itself. With that said I’ll leave you all with these lovely photos.

Notice the lovely hair

All white so cool

Hair speaks!!

CEO Presh Hairway's, looking stunning

One more thing before I go, we should all realise that it is far better to wear an original hair than to wear a fake one, it tells a lot more on your personality. So save if you have to and get that perfect hair that will compliment your beauty.

Till next time, its GBF……..

Last week on our beauty tips edition we talked about the eyebrow, hope we all learnt something useful from that. Today we will be looking at tips on how to apply your foundation. Ever wondered why your favourite celebrity always looks great on the red carpet, well its usually because they are wearing foundation which makes the skin look flawless. Now here are some tips that can come in handy if you also want to get that flawless look.

1. FIND YOUR PERFECT COLOUR: Try shopping for your foundation in daylight and test your foundation on your jawline. You will know if the colour fits, if it disappears without you blending it in. You can also ask a beauty adviser to help you pick a perfect colour.
2. PREPARE YOUR SKIN: Before you apply your foundation make sure your skin is clean and moisturised. Application of the primer is optional unless you want your makeup to last for the whole day.
3. APPLY IT THE RIGHT WAY: You can use your fingers, cosmetic sponge or a foundation brush to apply your foundation to leave the right amount on your face. Blend in the foundation in an outward motion including the eye area, into the hair line, behind the ear, the jaw line down to the neck. Try blending it in well so you don't look like you’re wearing a face mask.
4. DO THE CONCEALER AFTER FOUNDATION: Concealer is optional. If you apply it before the foundation you would use a large amount and also the base of the foundation keeps the concealer crease free. Use a pointy brush or the tip of your pinkie finger to apply the concealer on the other little skin flaws that aren't quite covered by your foundation.
5. FINISH WITH LUMINOUS OR LOOSE POWDER OR PRESSED POWDER: Translucent powders help the skin glow and take down the shine. Dust with a brush or cosmetic sponge in a “W” motion starting from the hairline down to the cheek bone, up to the bridge of the nose back down to the other cheek then up again to the opposite hairline.

Follow these tips and you’re sure to get that celebrity red carpet look. Below is an example of the effectiveness and result of applying a good foundation.

That would be all for today guys, so until next time on our beauty tips segment always remember to keep looking trendy and beautiful, all it takes is some attention to detail. GBF

Hi folks…… So below is a picture of Jennifer Lopez and what she wore for her performance at the opening ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which kicked off yesterday.

What do you all think about it? Good or bad.

Well I guess we’ve waited enough and its midweek already, now let’s get Glam Sunday over with and move on to the next. Today I’m not just going to announce the winner I’m also going to attempt to talk about all the lovely pictures I received. First of all thanks to all the ladies that participated in this 2nd edition of Glam Sunday and as for the guys who didn’t participate we still have hope in you.

Well let's start with the lady in red, your outfit is basically simple and calm, you could actually get a guy in church with that pose (wink) just kidding.

The lady sitting down, although sadly I didn't get to see your full outfit properly but you’re still looking good.

The lady in the blue skirt, your background doesn't look so churchy to me if you know what I mean but your outfit is really cool especially the jacket but your pose didn’t do justice to it.

Next is the blue dress lady, not only are you wearing the colour of this season you also have a beautiful smile, but unfortunately your picture isn’t full, so I can’t really get a feel for your whole outfit.

Now to the lady with the lovely shoes, wish I could steal right now LOL. You gave me a hard decision here because you your shoes already had some talking about, but I needed to be objective, mostly because I really loved your outfit and I thought you would have won this edition but your belt lost it for me. I think that belt really had nothing to do with the outfit in the first place. You had a really nice shoe, a killer tight skirt and a loosed blouse. I believe if you were looking for a fitted look all you needed to do was to tuck in the blouse and leave it like that or rather you could tuck in blouse and then use the belt on top of the skirt. You can try that next time and hopefully and you will see what I mean.

And now the last but not the least, the winner for this edition has to be the 2 in 1 picture. Apparently the lady in the jacket sent the picture but her friend stole the spot light. Typical of girl’s right? But this one was for a good reason LOL. OK so where was I again……. Hmmm, oh yeah was announcing the winner, not only was her outfit magnificent she also took a phone risk by wearing a bow tie on a much loosed blouse. Notice how her hair is packed up, this was to enable you see the lovely work done by the tie and the tie also has a colour that matches up with the shoe. For me this outfit is churchy enough, yet has that funky and jazzy look to it, and above all it’s epic.

That’s all for this month’s edition of Glam Sunday, your opinions on who did it best for you are more than welcomed. Hope it was fun, till next month then, and always remember to keep it GBF everyday every time.

Hello folks…….. Here are some of the responses from our Glam Sunday event. Remember you can still keep your pictures coming by sending them to pamosexpression@yahoo.com. Our Glam Sunday fashionista will be announced midweek.

Now yall check them out and see if you like.

Hi folks, lovely Sunday to you all……. As we should all know by now Glam Sunday is back again for this month. Since yesterday I’ve actually been thinking a lot about what poster picture I should use for today's Glam Sunday. Well that is because right now I’m in Kaduna on a visit and seriously I can’t start going around taking pictures of people I barely know in a new environment or church, NOW THAT WOULD BE WEIRD….....

To solve this dilemma I decided to call my cousin Vivian, a talented designer and owner of “Viva Africa” clothing line (you’ll be seeing more of her designs on this blog). I asked her to send me pictures of her customers wearing some of her Sunday clothing designs, in particular the guys (this is because some guys that I know instead of commenting here have continually made comments to me on BBM, saying I don't write articles that involve our male counterparts). Well Glam Sunday is for everyone both male and female, so today I have decided to use a male picture as our poster picture for today's Glam Sunday and also to promise them that I’m definitely working on something for the guys. I hope this will encourage our male audience to join in on today's edition as well (except you want me to do a copy and paste from the internet? NEVER).

For those of us who are new to Glam Sunday, you can click on the Glam Sunday page option at the top of this page and get all the information you need from previous posts. All the interested participants should remember to send their Sunday pictures and photos to pamosexpression@yahoo.com, and you can keep your pictures coming till the middle of the week when the eventual winner will be announced. And if you didn't go to church today I’m sure u went last week or the upper week, so no excuse…..GRINS.

Posting up your Sunday outfit as part of the Glam Sunday event is way more fun and exciting than just putting it up as your DP on your phone or social media site, where someone that you barely even talk to will only decide to start a conversation with you all because of a fine picture, and they would be like “hi pretty, so how u doing” you ladies out there especially know what I mean LOL.

So below is our poster picture to kick start our Glam Sunday for today, let it serve as an inspiration to you all………. Let Glam Sunday begin and remember its GBF Day and Night

First of all it is important to note that makeup artistry is art brought to life. Make up doesn’t only make you beautiful it also enhances your already present beauty. So for today’s beauty tips we’ll be talking about the eyebrow.

THE EYEBROW
The eyebrows are very important aspects of your overall beauty, without them you are incomplete. Eyebrows are the most important features of the face, draw them well and everything falls in place. Here are some tips in eyebrow shaping.

EYE BROW MAINTENANCE
There are 3 methods of eyebrow maintenance, first figure out the method that works for you.
i. WAXING:
This method is kind of rare but it is really good. If you’re going to get your eyebrow waxed please make sure you go to a trained cosmetologist who is trained in waxing. Waxing is the fastest method of hair removal and it can keep your hair from growing back for 2 to 6 weeks.
ii. THREADING:
This method of hair removal has its origins in India, where a thin cotton thread is used to remove hair. You also need a trained practitioner for this process.
iii. TWEEZING:
This is a great choice, very common, inexpensive and can even be done by you although it takes some practice to become a pro. A pair of tweezers is all you need to pluck the brows, it’s a bit time consuming but as they say "it is better to be late than ugly"

FIND YOUR EYEBROW SHAPE
First step to having a great brow is to follow your natural shape. Whenever you get your eyebrows groomed please try not to change the shape to avoid looking strange and awful.

From the image above you can find your natural arch. A&C refers to where your eyebrows should start and stop. B is where your natural arch is. NOTE: Whenever you go for eyebrow maintenance always remind them to follow your natural arch.

KEEP IT SIMPLE AND NATURAL
To have a great eyebrow is to work with what you have naturally, and that's following your basic shape and natural arch. Use brow pencils and fillers that suite your brow colour to get a natural look. Eye brow trends come and go but looking natural and polished is always in style.

That would be all for today guys, so until next time on our beauty tips segment always remember to keep looking trendy and beautiful, all it takes is some attention to detail. GBF

Hi folks….. This is a quick reminder for our upcoming Glam Sunday for the month of June, which will take place on the 8th of this month. For those who are new to the Glam Sunday event, it is a once a month Sunday photo competition which takes place only on one Sunday of the month, during which all fashion loving individuals showcase their amazing outfits worn on that day.

As a reminder of last month’s Glam Sunday, here is another look at the beautiful picture that won the day last month.

Hope yall can beat that this time around. So don’t forget to get your cameras rolling this Sunday and get your most classy and fashionable outfits out the wardrobe & show us what you got. GBF always

Hi guys…. So I’m sure most of us must have heard about and seen pictures of Rihanna’s outfit at the just concluded Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards, for those who haven’t here is a picture below.

She wore a see through sheer-gown designed by Adam Shelman, which had 216,000 Swarovski crystals on it. Asides from that, she also took home the "Fashion Icon of the year" award. Now there has been a lot of talk in the media about the dress, and apparently how Rihanna was "err" naked, well yeah not totally. Here are my opinions about the dress;

The dress is a show stopper for me. Rihanna has always been in tune with an eclectic style of fashion, figures why she was given the Fashion Icon of the Year award. The headgear is a winner for me also, making here look like an Egyptian goddess of old, plus a wonderful dress as such would have required an evenly wonderful hair too match, which might have been too much on the look of the outfit. The headgear solves that problem by keeping the outfit looking simple and elegant at the same time.

Now to the main talking point of the dress, this is the see through material of the dress. In my opinion there actually isn’t much wrong with the see through nature of the dress, although I would have preferred this sort of outfit being worn at a musical rendition or for a magazine shoot but not during a red carpet event like the CFDA awards. Another thing I would commend her for is the neutral colour underwear which blends in naturally with her skin colour, anything other than that would have been too loud.

So what are your thoughts on the outfit? Open to all your opinions.
