When the word baking soda comes to mind you think of baking right but there is more to this sodium bicarbonate powder than you think. First of all did you know baking soda, contains anti-bacteria, antiseptic, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory properties which makes it a multipurpose substance in fact this should be your go to beauty product, and the amazing thing is that most of us have it in our kitchen cupboard doing nothing. Well let me tell you how to put that to use.

1.     Teeth Brightener
Baking soda is great for removing yellow stains from your teeth, with its anti-bacterial properties it neutralizes acids caused by bacteria. Simply add a little amount of baking soda on your tooth brush alongside your regular tooth paste, brush your teeth as normal. I advise you to do this once a day for a few days and you will see the difference in no time.

2.     Improves Uneven Skin Tone
This a major problem most of us have, uneven skin, but not to worry baking soda helps balance PH levels which is very important if you want an even and clear skin. Simply use a warm towel on the affected area to open the pores then apply your mixture, which contains 1 or 2 teaspoon of baking soda with warm water let it rest for one minute and rinse off with cold water to close pores .Do this once or twice a week and be sure to moisturize immediately after and go rock that tan top you’ve been avoiding

3.     Treat Acne and Pimples
Simply add one or two teaspoons of baking soda with warm water and apply it on the affected are, repeat this once daily for two to three days and then reduce it to once a week. Do not forget to open and close your pores by using warm water before and cold water after wards this goes for any skin care treatment. You don’t want to leave your pores open and pick up infections.

In conclusion you don’t need strong skin care products to get rid of your skin problems and then end up doing more damage by rumpling your skin and aging faster, remember the skin is delicate and you would want to treat it as such. Watch out for my next post on baking soda tips is going to be more interesting.

NOTE: Baking soda is more effective when used for a short period of time and also do a patch test to know if your skin is sensitive to it.

Hi guys, a jolly good day to you all.

Like most of my mornings, today started out for me with an early morning jog, this time around with my cousin. After the jog I went into the bathroom to exfoliate my skin with sugar and lavender essential oil (you can find a DIY post on how to make a Natural Body Scrub – HERE). I got my lavender oil from the Konga store, trust me they have some really good skin care products on offer, you can check them out by clicking HERE – (Skin CareProducts) or you can click on the Konga advert banner on our site and search for skin care products.

Lavender Essential Oil

After convincing my cousin to join me in my morning skin regime and not just compliment me about my skin all the time (she wants a good skin without putting in the magic work), there I was standing in front of the mirror listening to Drake’s song – Redemption, scrubbing my face and neck and she in the bathtub doing the same and of course you know a gist is inevitable in a situation like this.

Eventually she got us talking about a line from the song and if you know me very well, you will know that Drake can say or do no wrong in my eyes! Lol…. That’s how much love I have for his music. Now back to the song, while trying to defend Drake’s lyrics a topic popped up, which was "what is the worst breakup line we have ever used" to end a relationship... My cousin who used to be a former heart breaker had more than one line to say of course, she said she once told someone "Whatever, whatever we are having is over" and that was it, imagine that….. I on the other hand, I told someone that (coughing) "I’m breaking up with you because if I know eventually you would break up with me". We both laughed about it and she suggested I make a post about it even though it’s not one of our usual post topics. So guys what is the worst breakup line you have ever used. Let’s have your words…..
