This year fashion
analysts and enthusiasts alike are predicting a move towards the cooler and
softer side of the colour spectrum for fashion. An eclectic mix of understated bright,
pale, and natural-like neutral colours are being foretold to take centre stage
this year. If the early year runway and red carpet trends are anything to go
by, it seems they’re right. I’m hoping we can also be a part of this colour
trend, so for that reason I’ve compiled a list of colour shades that are predicted
to be the theme of this cooler and softer year.
1. SAGE
GREEN
Generally not thought
as a fashion colour in the past, though it does come back in vogue from time to
time, Sage Green is a soothing green shade whose time has come again. Sage Green
is a tropical green that could best be described as nature’s neutral. It’s a classic
yellow-green that could be used with anything and everything. Sage Green has a
minty glow that is light in tone and blends seamlessly into any natural beauty.
2. STRAWBERRY
ICE PINK
Although some of us
might believe we’ve outgrown pink for being too girly, well its back in vogue for
all ages in the form of Strawberry Ice Pink. This is suggestive of a refreshing yet
warm colour which is quite appealing. Subtle and charming, Strawberry Ice Pink is
an ideal shade for 2015. It is a colour that evokes a feeling of being “in
the pink” rather than “putting on the pink”, thus emitting a flattering and
healthy glow.
3. TANGERINE
Spontaneous and friendly,
Tangerine is a juicy shade of orange that is energizing, yet not blinding to
the eye. Versatile Tangerine is striking enough to stand on its own and
adds vitality to a printed pattern. Good natured and friendly, but with a tangy
edge, this fun-loving colour invites a smile.
4. GLACIER
GREY
Already featured this
year on this blog worn by Amy Adams at the Golden Globe Awards (see here), Glacier Grey is
an unobtrusive grey that contrasts and enhances; bouncing off other shades
without taking away from them. Sometimes referred to as nature’s most perfect
neutral, Glacier Grey is a shade that is timeless. It is a quietly assuring and
peacefully relaxing colour.
5. LAVENDER
Lavender is a tint of purple rich in nostalgia. It’s a unique
shade that adds a bit of surprise to any look and intrigues the eye. Lavender
is also a creative shade; one that will add a distinctive colour pop whether
worn on its own or combined with other colours.
6. SCUBA
BLUE
An invigorating shade
of the all loving Blue, Scuba Blue conveys a sense of carefree playfulness.
Even though a cool shade, the vibrancy of Scuba Blue adds a splash of
excitement to any outfit. Scuba Blue offers a feeling of escape as it is
reminiscent of a tropical ocean. This stirring and energizing shade takes us
off to an exotic paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if it’s only a
fantasy.

DeleteI love change and I really love the 2015 colours! Change inspires creativity and motivates you to step into new styles. I am personally relieved to see some of the eye-popping, neon colours like red and yellow fade away for a while.
