Today, we're continuing with our natural hair series. One of the most important components
of a natural hair regimen is regular deep conditioning. There are some
good deep conditioners in the market, but homemade deep conditioner does your
strands some good plus you’re sure of no chemicals. Always apply a deep conditioner,
freshly washed and conditioned hair.
Apply from roots to tips, utilizing a
smoothing motion to ensure thorough application. When finished, put on a shower
cap and allow to stay from 30mins to 1hr your choice but it is not advisable to
leave for more than an hour. Then rinse with cool water. Here are 3 homemade
deep conditioners.
1. AVOCADO+HONEY+OLIVE
OIL+MAYONNAISE+COCONUT MILK
All of these ingredients in this
recipe are super moisturizing individually, but when combined, your hair is in for
a real moisture treat. The mayonnaise is great for giving hair a healthy shine
and added softness.
Combine 1 avocado, 1/ 2 can coconut
milk, 2.5 table spoon cup mayonnaise, 3table spoon honey and 2.5 table spoon
olive oil.
Blend all ingredients using blender
or hand mixer or a whisk. Be sure to blend well until smooth.
When done, apply the deep conditioner
to your hair and cover with a shower cap. Heat for at least 20
minutes, rinse the mixture out with cool water (no hot water). Make sure it is
completely rinsed out of your hair, then style as usual.
2. AVOCADO+
BANANA
Avocado will heal and moisturize your
hair, while banana will minimize split ends and soften your hair.
Mash 1 avocado and 1 banana until
smooth then half table spoon of your favourite oil. Apply to your hair wash
after 30mins to one hour.
3. OLIVE
OIL+ HONEY
Oil nourishes the scalp while giving
the hair a very nice shine, honey acts as a humectant it draws moisture to the
hair.
Olive oil and honey work together to
deep condition your hair quickly.
Mix 1/4 cup honey and 1/4 cup olive
oil in a bowl.
Rub it into your hair from the roots
to the tips, focusing on the spots that tend to get the driest, cover with a
plastic shower cap, allow to stay for 10 to 30mins then rinse off using a cool
water.
Can you use these weekly ?
