At the recently
concluded Victoria Secrets Paris Fashion show; everyone can be forgiven for
getting caught up with only the girls and the underwear which is what everyone
wants to cast an eye over. But what about those subtle moments you might have missed?
So while you catch up on the beauty on display, we round up some of the unseen
action.
The Gaga
Extravaganza
The
first thing to note about Lady Gaga's performance is how incredible her vocal
was, but the singer is rarely one to go minimal, and the sparkliest show on
earth is no exception. She produced a roller coaster of emotions for onlookers
as she wrangled vertiginous heels that she took off twice; a cowboy hat covered
with beaded fringing that just would not behave, tangling with her microphone
at one point; and energetic dance moves.
Yolanda
Kisses
As the mother of the first sisters to take to the
Victoria's Secret show, Yolanda Hadid understandably occupied a front-row seat
at the end of the catwalk- a prime spot previously occupied by high-profile
Angel husbands like Caleb Followill and Adam Levine. Positioned as she was,
Hadid was showered with kisses all night long: by her daughters, blowing them
from the catwalk; by Lady Gaga, who embraced her warmly as soon as she climbed
off of the stage; and by The Weeknd - rumoured ex-boyfriend of her youngest
daughter, Bella - who also stopped to kiss her as she passed.
An
Angel Has Landed
Whooping and cheering like you're at an Ariana
Grande concert is a given at the VS show, but last night there was an extra
measure of love in the room in the form of former Angel Doutzen Kroes in the
front row. A rare occurrence for an Angel to return once she's left the brand,
Kroes received special attention from her friends on the catwalk, with Adriana
Lima and Josephine Skriver both waving and blowing her kisses. Kroes sat with
her DJ husband Sunnery James, who was a big fan of the musical performers.
The Weeknd
Away
It would have been easy, given that he performed
only one song, for The Weeknd and rumoured former girlfriend Bella Hadid not to
have to meet on the catwalk - but producers brought them together anyway,
creating a moment of tension as she walked towards him. Would she smile? Ignore
him? Give him the stink eye? As it turned out it was a combination of all three
and unfolded in can't-look-away-from-a-car-crash slow motion. At least she
could scarcely have looked more beautiful when running into him.
